The Mayor's Cup 2026 has gained a partner whose business is keeping athletes healthy. At the stakeholder engagement in the Mayor's Boardroom, the Municipal Sports Officer, Mr. Ssemuhara Gerald Cyrus, welcomed Fitness Health Nutrition Sports (FHNS) as a new partner of the tournament, represented by its Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Isaac Gabriel Otuk.
Who is FHNS?
FHNS is a Ugandan organisation working to transform sports healthcare, injury management, athlete nutrition and mental health support, including help with anxiety and depression, for athletes in Uganda and across Africa.
What FHNS has promised
Mr. Otuk spoke about supporting the tournament, shared several health tips with the participants, and promised free health care and check-ups for the players taking part. The partnership covers four areas:
- Free check-ups Health care and check-ups for the participating players.
- First-aid cover Healthcare services, including first-aid, throughout the tournament.
- Capacity building Initiatives to strengthen the participating teams.
- Publicity Promotion that raises the visibility of the Mayor's Cup.
Why it matters for players
For community teams, access to health care can be the difference between a season played and a season missed. Check-ups and first-aid support mean problems can be spotted early and injuries handled properly, on the pitch and off it.
Healthy players make better matches. That is the idea behind this partnership.
Details of how the check-ups will be arranged will be shared with team managers by the organisers.
